I would like to mention that the flyer showing pictures of numerous bucks of which Updraft is one of them shows the incorrect age with the picture. That is in fact Updraft at age 2 in 2009.

Thank you to Mark for wanting to included Updraft with his flyer advertisement.

In Mark's Buckeye sale we have the following lot.

A 2010 doe fawn out of Updraft and Madison.

Updraft was unofficially scored at 317 6/8" at age 3 this year. Last year at age 2 he was officially scored at 268 4/8". At age one he was unofficially scored at 168 2/8" As you can see each year he has made nice gains in size. Updraft is also one of the very best bred pure Flees bucks ever produced off the Flees farm. We put a great deal of thought into how his pedigree was produced so as to get the greatest predictability and passdown of some of the finest animals ever produced at the Flees farm.

Madison is a Tomahawk daughter from a WRW Moose and WRW Ruger doe. Madison's oldest and only son is a buck we have here called Contrail. Last year Contrail scored 155"@1 and this year he scored 194"@2 with a very pretty 6x5 mainframe. That son is out of Max Thrust. Madison is a very large bodied girl and is passing this trait on to her offspring. Madison is also bottle fed and very tame. She raised this 2010 fawn her self and has passed along a very pleasant nature as this fawn is very calm. A true 5 to 10 footer.

I am very confident that this girl will be a great producer. In fact I am so confident that I have her 2 sisters a year older still on my farm and will be breeding them this year for their first time. Breed this girl to any Flees line or Patrick line buck and watch the massive frames and long tines you get.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 715-212-5640 or by email at independenceranch@yahoo.com

Note: In the book it is listed that there is a reserve on this lot. As a show of support to Mark and his Buckeye sale I am lifting the reserve and this doe fawn will sell. Thank you in advance to the bidders and also to Mark for asking me to take part in his sale.

I was reading through the catalog and noticed that on page 60, lot 89 is a Dream Ranger doe fawn that comes out of a doe we had sold here as a fawn.

In the description the score for Max Thrust is incorrect. It should read that Max Thrust scored 262" @ 3.

Also I can give a little information about the doe called Orange 121 in the pedigree.

Orange 121 had a full brother who died at age 2 and he scored in the upper 160's at 2 when he died from fighting.

Also Orange 121 had a 7/8 brother (They shared the same sire and their moms were twin sisters) who as a yearling this year was 7x5 mainframe and his est score was 148" @ 1.

The full sister only a year older to the 7x5 yearling mentioned above had a yearling son this year out of Updraft who had 11" G2's and 10" G3's with great mass.

The anchor doe listed as Yellow 11 had a womb brother and a full brother who both scored over 200" with tons of mass and drop tines. Yellow 11's mother was a double bred Mr Awesome doe.

So I guess what I am saying is the fawn selling comes out of solid production animals that have shown to cross well with the Flees and Maxbo lines. She should be a really good doe.

I just thought I would share what I knew about this lot and I hope it helps.

One last posting to advertise our lot in the sale that is happening today and tomorrow. Most everything is said in post number 4 above about my lot. I guess the only thing else I could add is that Updraft only had 2 yearling bucks at our place this season and they both had G2's over 11" and G3's over 10" with long beams and great mass.

I am completely confident of Updraft's passdown abilities.

Hope everyone at the sale has a safe trip home. Sorry I wasn't able to attend due to us having to work our deer today.

I will agree with the sale being soft. I was watching online and other than a few good priced lots the rest were below average for sure. I had one lot yesterday and didn't sell her. I had a reserve on her. Shouldn't of had one on her. I think the reserves should be done away with. I am guilty of putting one on my doe but I think that all deer auctions should be absolute sales. Just like a cattle or any other auction. If you are putting your deer in the sale it should be sold. The advertising is there with the catalog, emails, website to few the lots. If someone is interested in a lot they will bid on it. When there is a reserve it stops people from bidding I think. It wastes alot of time for the entire auction when there might be a bid on the deer but it is 1000 shy or whatever shy of the reserve price. We are seeing to many no sales in these auctions the last couple years and I think this is leading to everyone thinking the market is very poor or alot of people think there deer are better than they really are. I think if the reserve is dropped on sales you will see better deer and better prices. Just my thought!

I would say you are spot on!!!!If the animal is a good animal it will sell. These auctions take way to long to go through with all the talk on some of these deer that will not sell good if you talked all dat about them.I know they try their best to get you top dollar but in these times if its not a good deer it wont sell good. They did 80 lots in 4 hours and they have like 220 more for today.I see todays sale goin a long time!!

Virgil I heard from someone that the STOCKER buck prices were actually pretty good. Not high, but fair.

I watched for a while and I thought that for the most part they kept the sale moving pretty well. A decent pace I thought.

I have removed my reserve to show support for the sale so my lot will be selling. I know I won't get what I feel is fair money because she is a good doe fawn but right now prices are down. But I am ok with it because I have her 2 older sisters, and I know we need to adjust to the current markets. Also I feel it is a great opportunity for someone and I will be happy for them.

My lot just sold at the Buckeye sale and yes it was a good deal for the buyer, but considering how things were selling and in some cases not selling, I am happy with how she sold.

I am also very happy for the investor who is getting her and look forward to hearing where she is going. I am very confident she will be a great producer for them. The 2 older full sisters to this fawn that sold are being A/I bred to Maximus DT and GD Romeo here at my farm.

I would like to thank Josh for going up front and representing my lot for me and all those who bid on my lot.

Thank you to Mark Mast for asking me into the sale.
