To all Cervid Farms

It has come to the Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Association's attention that a new association has been established.* The new association is named PDHA (Pennsylvania Deer Hunters Association) and it was established to promote hunting behind fences.* While it's intentions may seem to sound noble, there are major concerns with it's potential actions and the results remain unanswered.* The Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Association is NOT affiliated, connected, or backing this new association in any way.* It's disappointing that this new association does not recognize all that has been done and continues to be accomplished for ALL the preserves and breeders in Pennsylvania.

Recent accomplishments by the Pennsylvania Deer*Farmers Association for preserves/propagators:
l[*]We were able to reduce the testing requirement from 100% to 50% on all cervids harvested on preserves in Pennsylvania after the Department of Ag had already passed this new requirement.[*]We were able to ensure boars and other ancillary animals could be harvested on hunting preserves.* This was after the PA Game Commission had outlawed the hunting of boars in PA Hunting Preserves.[*]We were able to ensure that our borders remained open for business to other states during the CWD issues.[*]We were able to stop the PGC regulations that ensured they would be the Agency enforcing CWD quarantines outside as well as inside your fencing.[/list]
All of these recent accomplishments, done by your elected board members who are spending countless hours of their time and good effort for all to benefit.* The Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Association has accomplished promoting and preserving*an industry*that many outside sources continue to work legislatively to threaten our industry.* The business, especially the hunting portion, creates an environment that enables the deer industry in Pennsylvania to*survive and thrive.* Pennsylvania still remains one of the leading states in the country for hunting and raising whitetails.* Our Association is doing its best to preserve that!* I urge you to not separate and instead join us in our fight to promote, preserve, and educate.

Thank you,

George Hazard

The Deer Farmers Association was established in 2000 as a way to provide a single voice to represent deer farmers and providers. The advanced writers reviews organization’s mission is to ensure that North American deer meat is recognized as a safe, nutritious and sustainable food source.
