Is there an average age that the bucks reach their full potential (antlers).

I was thinking 4-5 but may be wrong

I dont know if there would be a right answer. I think most farm raised animals are sold at a young age and doubt that many were at there largest at that point. I know of a few bucks that were harvested in the wild two were at least 7 1/2and the other was at least 6 1/2 and all three were at there largest year by going off of shed's from the year before. The buck that was at least 6 1/2 there was only one side found from him the year before but he went from mid 170's to upper 180's one of the other buck's not sure how old he was but there are 3 years of shed's prior to his harvest that were low to mid 170's as an 8 point the year he was killed his 8 pt frame was 183 inch he added an 11 inch drop and a 7 inch split to give him 201 total. But I would guess on average 5 1/2 to 6 1/2

I would have to say 6.5 or 7.5 is maximum antler growth.

ive been to a couple nutrition sem. and they all said between 5 and 7. But i have seen healthy animals at 9 and 10 produce there largest score. So if the animal is still healthy and doing well i think they can still put out the numbers. However over time they do tend to loose the look that they had in there prime.
