Does anyone have a preference on speculums ? The one i bought last yr, I need 3 hands to operate. Just not very good for deer in a drop chute in my opinion. Any recommendations from you guys?

My kit came from Grizzly Whitetails, Has 3 different sizes and everything else you need. *They have a little mag light on the end and when turned on lights the way awesome. The smallest are for first timers for the most part but i always live breed mine the first time around.

I really like the Jorgensen Speculum, and Jorgensen A.I. Light. These are available at*****(caprinesupply.com) go to products /breeding.A Mini Mag light is fixed to the speculum and fiber optics lights the end of the speculum that is inside the doe. Similar to a bow sight.*Hope this helps.

the bio light is the best bar none, used several others and was not satisfied until I bought this one,* difference between NIGHT and DAY, literally. If you have a superb light I really think that the speculum matters a lot less!

I also like their speculums.

Jerrilee....i have the Boi-genics bio light and speculum.... not crazy about it..too many steps for my liking. would like something with a handle for insertion and not using the flimsy light.

the collar with the speculum is what holds your light in place

I tried several other lights and thought this one was the best by far that I had tried

In an emergency we used a drain pipe for the sink that goes into the p-trap. *Loved it and have used it ever since! $5

Jerrilee...Do you use the little tapered piece to insert? or just use the speculum and push in with the light?? call me when you get a free minute :-)

There is a black collar on the inside of the biogenic speculum that holds your light source in place, it comes with the speculum.

grrr....we not on the same page... my speculum get up is 4 pieces...insertion rod...speculum..light and optic retainer....this is how i see it happening....insertion rod goes thru the speculum...rod and speculum gets inserted...the rod piece gets pulled out and the speculum stays in...then the light is put in the speculum and the black holder put in to hold the light :-) yeah?? Is the insertion rod really needed? can i just put the light in the speculum BEFORE it is inserted???. I guess what i'm trying to avoid is putting the light and holder in after the speculum is inserted into a thrashing doe

don't know why you would have to use the insertion rod and don't know why you cant pre-assemble for *ai in the chute.
