I am considering putting a Jenny in my deer breeder pens. I would like to know if anyone has done this before and if there are any potential problems that may happen with having a Jenny in the pens.

If you are TB accredited you will loose your status. Horses can't be tested, so if you have them in contact with the deer you are not 100% tested. This is what we were told by USDA vet @ the ILDFA meeting in September. He was bringing it up so the Amish would know.

Whay about the compatability issue? Will the Jenny cause any problems in the pens?

Had a donkey in with goats and it broke alot of baby goat legs from stepping on them. I would not put in the same pen.

I have a Jenny in my pen for predator control. They hate dogs and coyotes. The only problem is you have to keep them away from the feed or they will eat it all.

Some donkeys are mean! I have seen them run down a fawn in a large acre enclosure and stomp it to death. I'm not saying it won't work for you, but for my money NO WAY would I have one IN my breeder pens.

Some does Mean too, Will stomp other fawns- i saw woman who raised jack.for mules, like killed her during that time (HER )== month.they shot him!! i bet the white dog works better. the cats take care of birds till they hold up in wind! 9 cats !!!

If you have the room, let her roam outside of the pens. I had a big problem with coyotes and dogs until I got a jack. I have a perimeter fence outside of my deer pens and I just gave him the ticket to roam. He hates dogs, if it looked like a dog he chased it. Worked well for me, no more foxes, dogs or coyotes. Now I also have 2 Pyrenees as well. But they sure don't like each other.
