Couple Questions here. I am in need of a transport box. I am traveling to OH in the next week or so to pick up a purchase. Being a small hobby farmer, I have only moved a few deer. Each time "renting" a local guys transport box, at a pretty penny each time. To be completely honest, its getting a little old spending that amount of money each time. I dont move many deer which is the reason I just rented one everytime so far. My questions are, does anyone have any basic blueprints to build one? Or do any PA farmers here, in or around Lancaster, PA have a transport box they are willing to rent out or borrow for a day at a reasonable price. Being a small hobby farmer, the budget is pretty tight for building or renting a transport box. So I am loooking for a little bit of direction or help from you guys who have done this much more then me.

Thanks

Where are you traveling from? I have one I built two years ago-works great and is a 4' cube. Would be willing to sell it if you'd be interested as I don't think I'll be using it much more. North Central MO.

I don't think it requires much skill to forge together something from OSB and 2x4 framing. Commercial boxes are great but for the tight budget I would recommend slapping something together for about 20 dollars worth of wood and hardware. I made a couple to transport and fabbed them to fit in the back of my quad trailer somewhat tightly. It worked out good so voila! (or however you spell the expression)

I am the kind of guy that would rather take 20 hours to build something when I could have hired a professional to do it for $100. Somehow to me its worth more if I have sweat in it. You learn more that way also.

Glad you got it worked out... if you run into a jam and are coming through Bedford I will let you use one of mine for FREE! Just make sure you get it back to me in a reasonable amount of time. Good luck.
