Has anyone from Missouri sent of a head for a CWD test recently. Was just wondering how much the Department of Agriculture was going to charge us every time we send a head for testing now. Also, has anyone heard anything more about the mandatory Tb and Brucellosis testing for our herds to be accredited that they are trying to put in place for this year. Just wondering if that is going to happen this year. Thank you, Brad

Brad, I sent a 2 year old buck in to be tested and have not got the bill or the results back yet. Word has it that the TB and Bruc mandatory testing may get some changes. I have a MWHBR meeting to attend @ the Top 30.

If I find anything out I will keep you posted if you have any questions on this you can't get answered give me a call I will do my best to get you an answer

Wayne thank you for the info. I will look forward to hearing what you find out about it at the meeting if they talk about the new testing regulations. Thank you, again Brad

I think the price went up. I sent one off a couple days ago and they called and told my Vet they didn't have an account setup. I thought that was weird never needed an account before for a test. They used my credit card to setup an account. They called them today to see what the charges were for the test it was $45. More great news now it cost $100 to just butcher your own deer.

Count your blessings you could live in Montana where it has cost as much as $200. for CWD testing. We now pay around $50. a test for CWD. Then if you take the Montana tax of $33.00 a year on every animal you own every year paid to the Dept of Livestock who run our inventory list the price gets higher. Now because the Dept of Livestock runs the inventory list we have to pay a Vet $35. to come out and write up a death report because game ranchers must not be able to determine if the animal was really dead we have about 184.00 in paper work for a dead deer.

If you raise cattle or domestic sheep the tax is only 50 cents to a $1.50 and no paper work is required if you kill that animal or it dies. Sure sounds fair doesn't it. Like I said Count your blessings you could live in Montana where they tax you to death so as to force you out of the industry.

Is there any word yet on the mandatory TB and Bruc test in Missouri. Any information would be great. I have not been able to find any information on this besides this forum.

Thanks in advance
