Ed, my fawn barn is a converted horse barn. I haven't had any problems so far. Just make sure to give it a good scrub down first. Good luck...

Ed, like Michael says give it a good scrubbing, and then I would spray bleach on everything once and let it dry. Then throw down barn lime on the floor and whatever dust hits the walls so be it. This is pretty much our routine each spring before fawns come.

The barn lime we use comes in bags and has a really course texture to it. It actually is used by many farms to spread on the center walkways in the barn where the cows walk in to prevent the cow dung (is that ok Scott ) from sticking to the concrete, and also to prevent slipping. It is lime but is used in this manner but eventually ends up in the dung spreader and then onto the fields where it then is utilized as lime the way most people think of lime. It actually isn't the exact same lime most think of because most use a powdered lime in their fields or pastures. Maybe it is just a Wisconsin diary farmer thing

No Roger I know exactly what lime your talking about...my neighbors are dairy farmers and they use the stuff on their walk ways.
