I just put in a Nelson water. I just started my farm, I only have 2 doe so far and have had them a week. They was fairly calm does until I got them home. They have been real spooky. I was afraid they was not drinking. They would not come anywhere close to the waterer. I put a small tank in the pen on other side where they have been staying. I home they get use to it. Pretty exspensive waterer for them to not use it. Any ideas on how to get the to use it. I hate to take tank out of pen. It's 100 degrees here. Want to make sure they get water

Getting new doe's to get used to their new surroundimgs can also be stressful on the owner. LOL It will just take time for them to get used to the new waterer. Believe me they do a lot of exploring at night. With the temps as they are I would keep water in the small tank for a while. you could try placing some treats close to the Nelson. Trust me, they will start using it. Good luck. Allen

I did the exact same thing. I just kept moving my extra water closer to the nelson every day. I also took and put treats on edge of the nelson and could tell when they were gone. It took about a week before I was convinced they were using it. The does will calm down over time too.
