This was just on our local news tonight, maybe someone will finally start to pay attention to this disease now. EHD infected cattle. Just think of the number of cattle that get hauled all over the country, cattle going south and going north all the time, thousands of em, 365 days a year. How many of them are carrying the disease from state to state?

Some of us has been saying that from day 1.... I wonder if we had a map of the highways those truckers use to get cattle through and then get a map of the hard hit deer farms and wild herds if they would match up?

Sorry Crocket, after losing 16 deer to this, just trying to find a little humor somewhere.

We use a misting system that is on a timer. I have been told night time is the most important time to mist, that is 11 pm, 2am, 5am, and we also mist in the day. We spray any mud holes and around water troughs with a 3 gal sprayer by hand. We check deer 3x day plus. First sign of licking lips, separation or drinking lots they get 3 cc exceed and 2cc dex. We vaccinated with EHD 1 with a booster. The one doe we lost was blue tongue and she laid in an area where we had not noticed our misting nozzles were clogged and there was a mud hole she laid in. We now keep noxzzles checked and mud sprayed.

I am wondering since we vaccinated if they are getting a mild case and our meds given ASAP is helping them survive?? I hope someone can find a cure. Our Mist Away system was worth every penny. George from Texas has been awesome. Plus this forum and everyone's experiences. Thanks to all of you for your help.
