We had to move Two Yearling bucks this week, both of which were in velvet. they were darted and moved then reversed. they were both out for one hour and ten minutes before the wake up was given to them. We only had to move them a couple of miles. My question is what kind of set back can i expect in the antler grow of these two bucks this year? The biggest one only has about one inch of of growth so far and the other is less. It was in these two's best intrest to be moved now instead of later, otherwise I would have waited until fall. Was just wondering if anyone has had to do this before and what set back they seen. I've heard that it had a negative effect on the growth of the rack but never talked to anyone that has actualy done it.

Thanks in advance

I have heard this also but had a yearling last year that I had to put down twice once for a cracked hoof and then again to be TB tested and he grew out fine.....he had 20 some points and scored in the 150's. Now if it set him back i surely can't wait to see what he grows this year!! I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about.....just my opinion.
