Fox vs Mule Deer Fawns

Hello,

First on the scene of this fox hunting in the sage. At first it looked like he had cornered a snake in a sage bush as he kept jumping back. He then took off around the area and came back with a ground squirrel in his mouth and ate it in two gulps....and then went back to the bush. Finally heard a mew/bleet and realized he had a fawn in his sights. Changed angles a bit and saw the fawn, which by then had stood up. We looked around and saw the mother mule deer down the draw about 100 yards looking at the area, but scared to approach due to the ever increasing number of people at the site. The fox then went to another bush and we saw there was a second fawn there also. By this time, 30 minutes had passed and there was a huge crowd, so we left the area. On our way back to Lamar later that afternoon , saw the fox had gotten a fawn. Truly was an amazing thing to watch.

I had left many dens of fox birth on my place. We also noticed we would tag a fawn one day and the next day it was gone. I figured golden eagles had taken them. Then on spring a fox cleaned out her den and there were the feet of many fawns and lambs. I turned the family on the fox and they cleaned out 32 one year and 26 another. Just the other day we snared a female fox and a day later the little ones came out. I hate to kill them as I do like them but we did get seven fox that day. Yesterday my elk were running up and down a fence and when we checked there was a coyote. He would run at them and then the elk would run at him. Grandson took him out at two hundred yards. I will not let wildlife kill my stock.
Really scary is up the road pictures were taken of 6 grizzly bears. They will not be moved by F&G till one of them kills a child.
