Guys if you need to get your fat up this is a good way to do it with out lowering your fiber and protein. The protein avg. 19 % , fat avg 36 % ,fiber 28 % , carbs 34 %, cold press flax seed. It is one of the best fat that you can feed. It has Omega 3 20 % avg. Omega 6- 6 % avg ,Omega 9 -7 % avg.. Contack phone no. 937-206-3936. It is $50.00 pick up in Springfield, Ohio are $ 85.00 ship. I used to used ricebrand, soy oil, to raise my fat but it would lower your protein ,and fiber . If I fine it cheaper any where else I will give you a head up.

It was good to see you at the Ohio auction a while back. Hope all is well. A question regarding the flax seed. What ratio do you mix this with your feed or do you use to top dress?

Steve W

I called my feed supplier in Sugarcreek, Oh a little closer for us than Springfield they have the pressed seed in 50 lb bags for $ 31.00. If your feed supplier carries Kalmbach feeds they can get the flax seed for you.

Jeff I am putting a 50 # bag in a ton in my next load and check to see where I am on my counts. I just had a test done on my feed, and I am raiseing my fat level. Jeff can you get me the counts on the press flax seed on the $31.00 bag. I knew it would be cheaper some where out there. Jeff it would probably be better to put it in the mix.

Steve that is a 50 # bag

I'm not sure if they sell it by the bag but we use sunflower meal and its about a fourth the price. I'm pretty sure it runs about 48% fat not sure about everything else I would have to look it up. We buy in bulk so I'm not sure it is even available in bags.

I eat 3 tablespoons of it every morning in my oatmeal. I can attest to the health benifits of flax seed. My Doctors exact words regarding my choloesteral was "you have better than perfect cholesterol" This was at my physical one year after starting my day with oatmeal and flax seed. So while your feeding it to your deer, dont forget to eat a bite for yourself.
