I have a 6 year old doe that jumped the fence last night and some how tore her tail off. Now a bloody stump. Not bleeding and she licks it a lot. I have had trouble giving her shots in the past, so I am thinking water soluble antibiotic and iodine spray. Any other suggestions?

had this happen before with a buck, ran him in a squeeze and used local anesthetic and sewed it up like docking a dogs tail , then did it again two days later with stainless wire after it tore out the stitches , left it for two weeks then removed the wire stitches....stumpy made a full recovery although he reacted to the experience and lost most of his hair
