I'm new on here and I need help.*I work at a deer farm feeding fawns and there's a baby that I think something is wrong with. This morning when I went to feed him he wouldn't stand up.*When I got him to he drank about 5 oz.*He probably stood up for a total of 5 minutes.*He seemed to be drooling or something and there were bubbles around his mouth.*He was crying a lot and seemed really weak and had to lean against me for support. He wasn't bloated at all. Any ideas?

How old?

My bet is on clostridium

Start pumping the antitoxin

I saved 2 of 3 in last 2 years but u have to hit them hard with it or you won't

He was pulled from the mom on Sunday at 3 days old so he's a week old. When I fed him this morning he drank 2 oz and walked outside went to the bathroom then walked back into the building and laid down.

I would give 2cc at least once a day and get fawn paste in him. I have used the shock effect 2x/day 5cc w great results.

Take it's temperature! Should be 101. This gets overlooked many times.

I just discovered that he has worms. They are small maybe 1/8 inch long and white. Is there anything I can give him?

Cervid: mule deer, whitetail, elk, goats, bighorn & stone sheep & Alaskan dahl sheep

I would give the recommended body dose of either Pancur or valbenzen in his milk and let him drink it or just put it in a 3*cc syringe and put it in his mouth.* This kills most small intestine worms and is well taken by our deer.

Is this something that you can get from the vet?*Should I deworm all fawns in the pen as a precaution?

Cervid: whitetails
You can get valbazen at most feed stores. I would worm all of them.

maggots are probably an incidental finding from the fawn being sick*
