A friend of mine asked me to post this question concerning the sudden death of her pet doe.

Yesterday morning(7:30) was the first the doe showed sick. She was just fine the day before. By 5:00 the same day(yesterday), she was dead.

Symptoms - Very lethargic and was puffy and swollen just back from and under her chin that continued back towards and to her neck....that's it, other than one somewhat bloodshot eye. No blood anywhere or any other signs of trauma whatsoever.

I went up to see the doe and she did have a pretty big handful of swelling in the area I described.

Any guesses would be appreciated...I have no clue, and I know she would feel somewhat better knowing what her doe might have died from.
