Ihoped someone would have some advice, seeing as how there is very little vet help when it comes to deer. I have been deer farming for several years and started bottle raising two years ago. I have very succesfully bottled about ten in two years. We've been through the scours and diahreah many times. I raise them on fresh goats milk with a little yogurt in each bottle and very little trouble. I have one born late now, she's 9 days old. Great eater very spunky and went through a bout of diahreah but we cleared that up nicely. I was just out with her and noticed she was straining to poop, which she has actually been doing on her own for some time now. I helped by stimulating her and it came out looking like mucas and had blood in it. She's a super friendly and sweet pie bald and would like to help her before it is too late. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Kari (p.sundy@yahoo.com or my number is 330-448-7764)

Refer to post titled "Blood in stool" - another deerfarmer is having this same problem. I hope it helps you and I hope your little doe fawn gets better

Well, I did what I have always done for severe diahreah, although Ive never had any show of blood. I cave her 1/2cc Duramycin x2 per day by injection under the skin. I am already seeing great improvement. Blood is gone diahreah is starting to clear up, not straining to poo, and she is really perking up. I think she'll do ok.
