Cervid: mule deer, whitetail, elk, goats, bighorn & stone sheep & Alaskan dahl sheep

I've used Josh Newtons shot for e-coli for the last two years.* This has worked very well for me as what was in the vaccine covered my problem.

Only my mule deer fawn when born would get it at 3 or 4 days.* Losses were bad on fawns till I used that vaccine.* By putting it in the does they produced the right colostrum to protect the fawns.* The first year we had 100% no e-coli in the mule deer fawns and the second year we were at about 80% no problems.* That was the year we didn't get the vaccine in the does at the right time because of production problems.* I also had some fuso problems in fawns both whitetail and mule fawns and that also has been reduced to next to nothing.

I know some other people that didn't have that same good luck as I did but that is because their problem wasn't in* or covered in that vaccine it's as simple as that.

Does anyone use One Shot Ultra 8?* I was considering just using it and the EHD 9 way vaccine from Tx DBC

Are you just giving shots to fawns or are you doing does in spring before fawning as well

I vaccinate my does prior to fawning so that if the vaccines actually work it will improve the pass through to their offspring via colostrum.* I also vaccinate everything again in the summer end of July / first of August.* It may hinder my bucks darting them but I don't believe any of these vaccines stay in their system long enough to only do twice a year.* I vaccinate fawns and booster them in the summer as well.. Anything I leave on the doe will be vaccinated at a couple days old and probably miss the booster but everything else on my place get's vaccinated 3 times per year.* Right or wrong that is what I am doing to see if it helps because I can't tell vaccinating twice a year does any good at all..* I've tried a few different vaccine schedules and the only thing I can tell you is I had less EHD problems vaccinating 3 times a year this last year... If I get hit with EHD doing this this year I will not use a single vaccine in 2017.*
