Hi everyone. I put my fawns in the big pen a few weeks ago and was just wondering when and what I should put in food to deworm them?? Also, my big deer were dewormed with ivomec on their necks before they came to my farm this spring. I've noticed today that my one buck fawn has diarrhea on the insides of his back legs and am wondering if I should do anything or if it's normal to occur and will sort itself out. Also wondering if this might be due to not being dewormed. Thanks to all

We used Safe Guard cattle dewormer powder to deworm them. You just put it on their feed for three or so days. It worked well for ALL of our deer and we learned this from a prominent deer farmer in our area who uses the Safe Guard as well.

Diarrhea in a fawn may be scours. Our doe fawn was starting to have some diarrhea, back when she was born, and we gave her a few cc's of Baytril 100 (talk to your vet about dosing). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info! I will try to find the product you used. I live in a very small town in Ontario and most things are hard to come by.

When worming we usually try to rotate between safeguard and ivomec.

What about Panacur? For worming?

Remi, Panacure is the same thing as Safeguard, both use Fenbendezol.
