We recently drew the winners for our fall drawing and here is a list of the lucky 5. A big thanks goes out to everyone who purchased live animals or semen in 2013.

Be sure to contact me asap to get your straw so you can use it this fall.

Manuel Del Valle, San Antonio Texas

Greg Genitempo, Houston Texas

Jeremy Lanigan, Bethel, OH

David Cooper, Rayville, LA

Jason Edmondson, Alabaster, AL

Congrats to those 5 winners!!!

We have chosen to use 8 Live Breeders for 2013. We consider these deer to be the best of our best deer. I thought I would list them to help the semen winners choose a straw.

We picked our breeders based on the following characteristics (in no particular order):

1. Age. They must be big and represent what we want to produce at age 2. We are breeding for mature deer by age 2. If they get big at 3 and 4 that's fine, but we will select our breeders based on how they looked at age 2.

2. Score. Most of our breeders should score over 250 at age 2.

3. Look. We are looking for wide, big, pretty frames with extras. We still charge mostly by the score.

4. Pedigree. We want deep DNA'd pedigrees to predict repeatability and production.

Here are our 8 selections. I have just finished semen collection and scoring and will talk about each individually in the next few posts.

Cadillac Kid

Whoop-D-Do

Rim Rattler

Waylons Impact

PayDay

TimberRock

Armed and Dangerous

At age 2 Cadillac Kid scored 274 0/8 and had a 27 2/8 Inside Spread. We chose him as a breeder for his frame and pedigree. He is Cardiac Kid over Shadow over Shock and Awe's womb mate.

His typical frame was a 6X7 and scored 206 2/8. His main beams were 27-4 and 28-3.

At age 2 Whoop-D-Do scored 370 2/8 with a 37 4/8 Inside Spread. We chose him for a breeder for his frame, width, score, and pedigree. He is Maxbo Impact over Rolex (Rolexby10's womb mate).

At Age 2 Rim Rattler scored 288 0/8 with a 27 0/8 Inside Spread. We chose him as a breeder for his look, his frame, and his pedigree. He is Rim Rolex over Maxbo but thats only skimming the surface. He is the Superdoe R11 top and bottom. Take a look at the fully DNA'd pedigree.

Whats amazing about this buck is his typical 6X6 frame scored and UNBELIEVABLE 228 5/8 with 28 inch beams and 14 inch tines.

At age 2 Waylons Impact scored 270 with a 27 Inside Spread. That was in 2012. This year at 3 he is a big 5X5 in the mid 200s. He kept his antlers into April last Spring. He is Maxbo Impact over Waylon and Waldos Dam. We REALLY like him.

At age 3 Payday scores a VERY impressive 420 0/8 and has a staggering 35 2/8 Inside Spread. His typical 8X7 frame is 259. Payday Is Maxbo Beyond Control over a Reno doe.

At Age 2 PayDay scored 360 with a 260 inch typical main frame. That 2 year old set of antlers was the reason we bought payday this year.

At age 2 TimberRock scores an impressive 441. He is out of a Big Rolex son named Rockwell (365) over a Timberjack doe. Rolex on top of Timberjack, what could be better for pure inches? He was 22 inside and is one of the biggest 2 year olds ever that has a typical frame underneath it all. He was 242 as a yearling. We selected him as a breeder for his inches, age of maturity, and pure antler pushing potential.

At age 3 MI-Beauty scores about 250 inches....But the look...WOW

Maxbo Impact - Beauty is Maxbo Impact over Waylon. We bought him from Barry McGrew, my friend and one of the best big frame deer men in the business. Every time I look at him I say "what a deer" under my breath"

THANK YOU BARRY!
