We havenít started on our fence yet,but here is a reply from earlier. Sounds a little over kill but passed inspection with flying colors. Hope this helps


glad to hear you are starting a new deer farm, glad to hear it. we are also a new red deer farm in Kansas... we also used the utility poles and the deer fencing, it worked out very well. we put all of our posts in the ground 4 ft. with concrete and H bracing on the corners, with tension wires from top to bottom. this holds very tight. and in between our utility poles we used the 10 ft. T posts.. at the top of the T posts we ran a strand on non-barbed wire all the way around the top and tied to the T posts.
when the state came to inspect the fence, they we very pleased..
