| Recommended Reading for a Newbie?
Hello all.
My wife and I are thinking about starting a white-tail farm/ranch a couple years down the road. So I am taking a little time here & there to do research and business planning.
A little about us...
I've been an avid white-tail hunter since age 12 (archery, firearm and black powder). I've always had a healthy appreciation for the grace and beauty of these animals and can't think of much I'd rather do when I am able to take a step back from the company that she and I run together. I run the operations side of the business (she handles the books and admin) and I am told that I sometimes tend to get a little too deep on details when conducting research (probably a habit from my engineering background), so please have some patience with me if I go off the deep end on a detail that isn't terribly important.
We are probably 3-5 years out from planting the first fence posts right now, so I am primarily concerning myself with reading materials and layout plans.
I'd be interested to hear from the community what reading they recommend. We've already gotten: Biology & Management of White-tailed Deer (Hewitt)
I'm sure I'll be posting questions here and there for this detail or that. Looking forward to getting to know some of the community here.
