X-ray of a two week old fawn who has not pooped in 48 hours. All methods have been exhausted. I can't get her in to surgery until Monday. Any suggestions?
By changing the image from a negative to a positive, it is much easier to see the problem. The answer here is surgery. OK guys/gals.....this is a test, what do you believe the problem is?
Robbie, depending on what software you have, you can do what I did: save the "picture" to your desktop and then open it off your own pc and zoom in. Still, that didn't help me with any guess/diagnosis. Not terribly detailed.
The diagnosis by "Liveoak" is most correct. The bowel is pinched and needs to be straightened. The severity of the pinch is such that inflation of the intestine and injection of liquids could not straighten the "kink". Surgery is the only option in this case.
P.S. the fact that Liz was able to tell there was an issue as early as she did, gives this little one a much better chance at coming out of this without any long-term issues.
