wondering what might be wrong with my 1 doe . she has siliva coming from her mouth and has part of her tongue hanging out sometimes . she had triplets 1 was still born and 1 i found dead and the other 1 she is caring for . looks like she still has her winter coat . her back hip bones are up .she is eating grass and feed ok pooping and peeing . she did have some afterbirth hanging from her that i pulled out of her . any ideas is appreciated on what might be wrong with her .

First thing is a sample to the vet. Is she loose at all? do you have them on a worming program? She does look a little raggy and on the thin side so im sure she has something going on. Fecal sample is the first important step though!!!!

I'd get 2cc of something in her. Draxxin or Tetradure(LA 300) and repeat it in 48 hours.

While your waiting on the fecal test.

she has black pellet poop no runs . yes i wormed her in the fall with ivomec plus and in march with safe guard pellets . i'm thinking mybe something wrong in her mouth . there is a couple spots on her where hair lost down to the skin . could the other does in the pen be picking on her ? thanks for the info

Judging from the first picture were she's lying down and if it were my doe , I'd check her teeth. She may have a fractured tooth or a loose tooth . You will see excess saliva with many tooth or mouth problems . I've seen this in an older deer I had and her coat stayed ruff longer in summer too . Maybe a good antibiotic or Draxxin if you can't get her in a chute to check her mouth . Just a thought .

Any antibiotic will help her with infections she may have.....dura pen (penicillin) is what I like to use and have had much better luck with it for infections....draxxin has worked with respiratory problems.....

Draxxin wouldn't do anything to fix a tooth but it would cut down on fever or what a loose or impacted tooth is causeing. I'm assuming you'd check her teeth and have to fix the problem yourself or with your vet but as Dennis said an antibiotic would treat the results of a bad tooth or abscess and infection . Penicillin is and always will be useful for infections , won't fix the cause but sure helps treat the resulting infections . If your deer breaks a leg you'd but them on pain killers and antibiotics but it would fix the leg , you'd have to . Just a thought
