A friend of mine has a two year old pied that he is thinking of drawing. He is wondering if there is any interest in pied semen. I am not sure of the full pedigree, but it is a RCM Noble grandson and he is two years old. Pictures were taken June 16 2012. Thanks

Does the amount of white, stay in offspring or can it change and be more white then where it came from. hope you understand my Question. Its always a surprise?

dearjohn, it changes alot at times. I have a pied doe that has a pink stripe on her nose and a couple white socks. She had twin pieds this year, and one of them is 60% or more white. Hope this answers your question. I might add the sire to the fawns is brown.

The amount of white on a pied varies greatly and you never know what you will get. We always breed either a pied buck to brown does or a brown buck to pied does. You have a 50-50 chance of having a pied fawn that way. We explained this in detail on one of our TV shows. Each parent will pass on a gene. The pied gene is actually dominant. All of our pied deer have a brown gene and a pied gene, so depending on which gene is passed on determines whether you end up with a pied or brown fawn.

Dear John, that bloodline has produced several piebalds over the years, but they have ALL had white faces and white feet. Not much variety in color or any flashy swirls. I have bred them with white deer, piebalds and browns and have always received the same results.

I am only assuming that this is the deer I think it is. I am not sure without verification.
