All the above mentioned names are worthy of our interest and anticipation. That's what is nice about this type of animal raising. I am still green in the business but I have a lot to look for when antlers are in full bloom. I probably have as much antler anticipation for another nearby farm as I do my own because of my heavy investment in breed stock from his herd.

As far as interest in bucks that are not currently effecting my herd, I would like to see Noble and Ebeneezer this year. Bittersweet if they bloom out beautifully this year b/c don't have anything of them in my herd.

ROL-ON BILL 228"@1 - He is a Rolex son off of Blue Mountain Whitetails. He is an amazing yearling with great width and beam length. He will be one to watch along with all the other amazing Rolex yearlings out there.

WILDFIRE 271"@1 - Wildfire is a PA Geronimo yearling also off of Blue Mountain Whitetails. He was damaged in April and did ok on the finish. If he would have not damaged his left beam i think he would of been closer to Sudden Impact,281"@1. Is he going to be the next RDM Goliath 410", but at two or three? Time will only tell!

Maxbo 727 265"@1 - He is a Maxbo yearling that has the look. He is probally one of the most facinating yearlings out there. He is going to be the next Maxbo. He already has the width now he needs tine length.

There was an awsome group of yearlings in 2008 and i can not wait to see the 2009 group. There is going to be many more upcoming monsters.

Who are your eyes on in 2009? What bucks are you watching and for what reason? This is a 2 part question and answer so let's see what everyone is watching for and for what reasons.

I will start.

In no particular order:

Sudden Impact

I truly think if this deer can avoid neck injury and possible infection in the velvet, this deer may well break 500". I don't care how you feel about non-typicals vs typicals that would be a huge accomplishment for the industry. And how fitting that it would take place on one of the best farms in the country.

All the Rolex yearlings of last year.

Rolls Royce, T-Rex, TomEX, X-Factor, Rigid. These would be my favorites. Can any of these make the next jump without becoming to trashy?

Now we wait to see what Rolex daughters will do.

Shadow

We unfortunately won't get to see what Shadow will look like this year. I think that buck would have fixed that injured side and would have been huge. Instead we wait for his sons now. And from what I hear there are a couple of really big buttons already growing. I predict Shadow sons will be monsters in the next couple of years.

Legacy and Maxbo Ebenezer.

These two bucks along with Rolls Royce at the Walk farm have long tines on a good frame. Now let's see if everything stretches out for even longer tines and a bigger frame.

Nobel

He has a great look which is not news to anyone. But this year we should start to see some sons to see if he can throw it to the next generation. My understanding is he wasn't used in his younger years for breeding.

King James

A great looking yearling buck from a great looking sire. King James has the frame most of us want. Long tines, width, and sweeping beams. Now let's see what he does with it this year.

Ridgeline

I think this is one of the best bred Patrick line bucks in the country. Last summer he showed that like his father he can pass the bone on to his sons. The very few yearlings he had were off to a really good start. I am hoping there will be more yearlings to see this year. I am afraid this is one of those bucks that is being over looked and by the time people catch on it will be too late.

Tonto

Another buck with Patrick in it is Tonto. Like Avalanche Tonto is passing it on to the kids. Last years 2 year olds looked super on the Pierce farm. I look forward to seeing if Matrix can rebound at 4, and what bucks like Lakota and Outcross will do at 3.

WRW Rex

This Highroller son last year had a look that just made you stop in your tracks. Out of a Jack the Ripper doe he carries the ability to pack on the bone. And somehow he put it all together for a super look. This year he will turn 4. What kind of jump could we see from 3 to 4 years old?

Rancher

A buck from a little known farmer in MI has a fantastic look at 2 years old. Scoring 236" and sporting what looks like a 6x6 mainframe with looong tines. Here is another buck worth watching.

Grizzly

Amazing at 1, even better at 2. At this point I don't care what he does at 3 as long as he is as big. Now it is his sons we all watch for. Being a big boy at 1 he was no doubt used a fair amount as a yearling. I am truly excited to see his yearling sons this Sept. Lots of tines mostly going up. And long tines at that. Super mass for a young buck. And don't over look that pedigree, it is all there and will fit with just about any bloodline.

Maximus DT

Another buck we won't see grow out this year. But his sons have already shown they have what it takes to grow big. I will be watching for more sons this summer. I really screwed up when I didn't use some more of the semen last fall:(

Maxbo Hardcore

A huge frame and a great pedigree top and bottom. Sharing the same mother as Maximus DT, CR, Solidcore, Encore, and Mastbo, I think that little Flees doe has proven that passdown isn't just a catchy phrase. I don't know what yearling sons he might have coming up this year, but I am excited to see what any he has might look like.

The next buck might not be on your list but he surly is on mine.

Updraft

Son of Big Guy and a deeply bred Flees doe, his pedigree is second to none in the industry. He carried over 39" of mass, and had long beams. He had what I think was a great look for a yearling buck. We gave him a couple of does and he backed up some of the a/i does. I really wouldn't be too sad if some of the a/i didn't work:)

I look forward to seeing everyone else's list.

I figured I would bring this thread back to life. I read threw the list I made and many of these bucks are showing they have what it takes.

Sudden Impact has sons on the ground doing well and is further along this year than last year at the same time.

I have seen pics of X-Factor and Rigid and both were looking good.

Shadow. Well I guess I called that one as he has some great yearling sons on the ground this year.

Tonto's 2 year old sons from last year are looking very good from what I have seen on the web.

I hear Rancher looks very good.

Grizzly's sons are looking very good.

I heard Maxbo Hardcore is looking wider and very nice.

And then the last buck that was on my list was our very own Updraft;)

He is looking very good and visitors are saying very nice things about him. I think many will like what they see.

this is not a sales pitch by no means , but I just seen the new picture of Maxbo XL and everyone had better pay attention!! This deer is unbelievable. I truly believe that this deer is the One!!! I am not going to say that he is the biggest out there but I would rank him in top 3 and don't be surprised if he ends up being the Biggest!!! This is a fun time of year. Congrats to all

Some of the bucks im thinking about.....

WILDFIRE - Was the biggest yearling in 2008, and out scored all of the other PA Geronimo 2 yr olds ever at ONLY 1, and his pedigree. He is PA Geronimo/BM Bill/Blue 10( Blue Mtn. Super doe. He is looking huge. Watch out!

ENERGIZER - He is one of the more clean Shadow yearlings, and his pedigree is best of the best. You have Shadow, Maxbo x2, Super Doe, Flip, Rolex, Highroller, and MAX. This will be a producing deer for sure.

JRV Storm - This is a deer that has been overlooked a lot. He was one of the best looking yearlings in 2008 in my opinion, and he is blowing up @2.

BW GRAND CANYON - This deer was hurt at 1 and still scored 224". His pedigree is great with Maxbo/BW Sunny doe. Who could ask for more in one deer. He is going to be big @2. Keep your eye out @2.

Last but not least.....

ROL-ON-BILL - This deer is a Rolex/Bill/Blue 10 son and he set records @1. He possibly had the longest beams @ 26", and was possibly the widest Rolex yearling. He has a good chance this year at two to hit 300". This buck is big! Watch out!

These bucks are all young, but i think they are all going to be huge and be awsome producers as the years go on. A few more to mention are....X-factor - Rolex/Bill, Rolls Royce, Ebenezer, Ridgeline, and Royal Bill - Rolex/BM Bill

I'm in agreement on all these great deer and would like to add one that doesn't get his deserved due is Mark Sipes RENO this deer throws and is great with southern crosses. He may not be 400 inches but is a producer!!! ZZ

ZZ,I say AMEN also. Here are some pics of Reno's two yr. olds. Both pics taken 7/6/09. The first one is TW Avenger and the second one is TW Boss Man.

Any pictures of Updraft?

Matt, I am itching to post some pics on here for everyone. But Updraft is changing daily now and I really would like to wait until he is closer to being done. Also I take pics and look at them on my computer and think, well he ain't all that, and then I walk out and look at him standing in front of me and think WOW! Some bucks just are that way that pics don't do them justice and Updraft is that way.

What I need is some guys that are regulars on this forum to come see him and tell everyone what it is THEY seen and what THEY think of him.

I invite everyone to come take a look at him in person this Aug and see what you think of him. Matt, why don't you take a drive up?

I know that Max Thrust is liking the attention he isn't getting:p He is just sitting in his pen and taking off growing now. I will tell everyone he is changing is look from last year. He looks to be going back to the style of rack he had as a yearling.

Max Thrust has a nice looking yearling here called Contrail. Contrail also is growing yet, but I will post one pic of him to show that Max Thrust is showing he will be a producer. He only has 2 yearling bucks on the ground and both are nice.

That is a really nice loking yearrling. Is he a 7 by 6 right now? Typical antlers witih a little character, perfefct for me.

Independence Ranch, Real nice yearling I like how typical he is. In my opinion he is one of the nicer yearling posted on here so far. I myself like a good typical not the points everywhere look so many seem to be getting caught up in.

As far as pics of your other buck as long as your happy with him who cares what anyone else thinks of him. If anyone puts him done thats there problem and you cant let it bother you. Speaking from a little experience on that one.
