OK...here's a good example of "You just never know what you will get". Evidently crossing these 2 bloodlines was a winner because attached is the moms sire and my bucks sire and really, the outcome is the only thing that matters to me. I probably should insert that we ended up with these deer because of a buy out. My guesses are, now that I relook pictures, is that my buck's width came from Tink 69. They even look similar in the face structure. Now, on the bottom of the doe that we had was Squirt, which is the grandmother to Jesse James. And Jesse James' mother is Jessie. Jessie and Dutch look to be womb mates...or at least full brother and sister. Anyway...looks like Jessie (and Squirt) might be some great producers by the framey bucks they have on their website. So back to "You just never know what you will get". I know I'm not complaining because we got some dang good money for that buck...and I will tell you that he wasn't sold by his score alone. Maybe Tink 69 was one of those bucks that was in the few % that actually throw width. We bred our buck only one year and he will have a few yearlings this summer and I only have 5 bottlefed doe fawns out of him. So I'm kind of excited to see if he passes down.
