I have a doe that every year she gets this lump under her jaw. It's not a hard lump but firm. Last year I lanced it and it was a clear liquid I drained and gave her la200 and it cleared after a couple days. My question is do you think I have to dart her and do that again or can I leave it and will it go away?

I would dart with antibiotic first, give it a couple days and if not progression then think of lancing it. I have seen this before and both treated and left go, always found an antibiotic before is the best. Worked for me, good luck.

looks like bottle jaw from low protein in the blood due to worms, systemic infection (viral or bacterial).  I would not lance, and just give antibiotic and worm.  Maybe longrange would be a good option for her.

Jerrliee,

What is your choice of wormer? Especially for bottle jaw. And how long?

Thank you

If it were mine I would worm with an ivermectin then come back with valbazen a week or so later and give long-range after that. Maybe should run corrid through also. I would also give b12/complex/iron to help build blood and make sure you are feeding 18 percent protein.
