Went to feed the fawn tonight and noticed that he had several darker urine puddles on the garage floor.  He's eating well, drinking well, no issues with BMs.  Just wondering if I should run a urinalysis on him to check for possible UTI or if this is just normal concentrated deer urine. Thanks in advance - worried Doe here

That is darker than normal. If that dark color was observed coming from his urine stream fresh,I would be concerned. If you are worried rub his junk with a warm white wet rag while you are giving him his bottles and he will urinate. Then you can observe the color of his fresh urine stream. I am almost certain it darkened once on the floor. One pellet of poop setting in a puddle of deer urine would make the urine that dark. If he is drinking fresh water and eating good I would not worry.

i have not observed him drinking water but it is always out for him plus all the fresh greens.  He's getting bottled fed 3 times a day at about 14-16 oz at a time.  He's also munching on poplar leaves which I think can cause a change in the urine as well.  I'll double check this am and see how's he doing.

The dark color will be evident on the white rag if he has a problem. It is likely something on the floor reacting or mixing with it thats causing the darker color.
