Jonathan,

when you say single brows

do you mean no stickers coming off  a single brow tine coming off the main beam??

Jerri Lee

Not talking about single brows with a set of cheerleading pal palms or a couple small octopus setting on top each one. Lol

The bucks that have been posted are all good examples of what I meant. I have made a mistake snoozing on one of the lines posted. This thread has been very helpful and has added a sire or two I will be using this fall in our IA program.

My brother and I have a buck that we call "Brow Tine Buck". At 3 years of age he had 13" single brows, then last year at 4 they went 15" and 14" with 6" forks on a 24" wide frame that totals 256".

He is a double bred "Son Of The Gun" on the top side, and Flees Green 35 on the bottom.

It is interesting that your buck with awesome G-1's is out of the Son of a Gun line. Yukon's dam side also goes back to a Buckwheat son from Doug Roberts.

I don't remember Green # 35 from Flees. I do know of Green#36.

Your "Brow Tine Buck" is a fine buck!

If I'm not mistaken Green #35 is Buster/Mandy. He would be brother to Big Girl and Cuddles.

Thanks Josh

I think those are some of the more famous typical frame producing doe from the Flees lines.

Being that these lines were so old there is not a ton out there to represent them as with newer lines of today. I can say one of my favorite pictures is Buster and Bucky checking each other out through the fence. I will try to dig the photo up.

Mandy and here daughters have been some of my focal lines that I have tried to develop over the years. Mandy herself was a very clean doe while Big Girl and Cuddles have expressed both Non-typical and typical traits.

I have seen a fairly stable brow produced from this line here at my place and as well with others who have chosen to use Big Guy for a sire. I have had very few multiple brow bucks from him regardless of doe.

It would appear that 0064 has also shown some of that although it be somewhat less pronounced. I have crossed Big Guy and 0064 together to see if I am able to strength this gene along with a more notable typical frame. See example below.

Josh is correct, that is the same Green 35 (Buster/Mandy). I believe Green 35, Big Girl and Cuddles were triplets. We bred Gr 35 to one of our foundation does that had a similar breeding as Brad Heaths Whiley on the top side and Holig's Buford on her bottom side, which were two bucks with big typical frames.

The only single tines on this 3 year old are his brows.

SteveL in Ohio and Steve in Mn,

Those are some good looking bucks.

Here is one of the Mandy Line offspring I spoke about in an earlier post. Good single brows, Not bad on the tine length either.

Thanks Antlershed and Bell. Cassie, that buck is out of Dr.J and our Highroller daughter, Pinky. Every buck out of her has been huge. Attached are pictures of her 2 biggest sons, Dingus (480") and Tater (328"@ 2), along with a pic if Dr. J, who is a Dandy (Avalanches full brother), and a Redoy Jordan doe.

Our Bucks got off to a slow start. They are starting catch up !! I crossed some of my old typical line Doe's to B.C.XL and he has really improved the lines.

I am really excited to see what the Doe's out of these crosses are going to put on the ground.
