Clean Big Typicals.

Tom,

On july 1st I had two bucks that are one year apart and share the same mother. They are both out of A.I. and the older one had 30+ points showing while the other was typical with brows and G-2's and not much more. The older one stopped growing 3 weeks ago and is far behind what I envisioned he would be. The slow grower is from the PA Geronimo bloodline and is still yet to finish. The PA Geronimo son that Pierce's had a couple of years ago Adrenaline grew well into September. I would rather see them grow it no matter what time they do it than to be let down by an early starter who can't finish. JOE

I hear ya Joe,

My brother has a buck that grows real early and each year by the end of July he is basicly done growing. It's nice to see them grow late...it keeps the suspense up. It keeps you wondering just how big they might get. At any rate , they all get as big and nice as the good Lord allows them to.

Good point Tom,

I believe when things go right for them, the credit should go to the creator. When they have a bad year, most of the time it is man who has a major factor in it. All we are is stewards, good or bad for these animals. I just wish that God would have created whitetail females that would grow antlers at least once in their first five years of life. That would make things more interesting. Joe

Joe,

Sometimes he does. Here is a 3 yr. old GB Webster daughter I have.

Last year when running the does thru for AIing, I noticed she had about an inch of growth on her left side. I didn't notice it grow any more until this July. I posted a thread about doe with antlers a while ago and learned that there are more out there than I had realized. I am not sure if she will pollish her antler or not , or if it will even shed. I never asked that question b4. Maybe others reading this will have some input on that.

We have a doe with knots about the size of marbles on her head. In talking to others I think small knots and buttons are common.

Auggie has always had a big frame. He cleaned up again this year and looks to be really big and typical.
