Doesn't look like alot sold. Don't have my book with me so I don't know if the prices are good

FYI - Texas Tea's mother went to $37.5k, but we didn't sell at that price. Some may call me crazy, but she's worth more than that to keep her on my farm.

I would say you are crazy the way prices are and things are going thats a pretty good offer. She might not bring that much again in todays economy.

I appreciate your opinion Virgil, but you have to look at the whole picture.

Not only did she give me Texas Tea himself. She has my 2 best yearlings on the farm this year (one of which has a better frame than Tea did as a yearling), AND she gave me 2 buck fawns out of Cardiac Kid this year.

I'm not worried about not getting as much for her in the future. I'm not desperate to sell anything, and I won't sell my deer just to make a sale. She can stay right here for the rest of her days and that would be just fine by me.

I guess it's just my nature, but I'm actually very optimistic about our industry. I hate to see people getting out of the business, but it will actually make us much stronger in the long run as long as we learn from some of our mistakes.

Thanks to everyone that called and was interested in her.

Mike

If you don t need the money I would keep her to. Its hard to come buy a proven producer.

Thanks Henry for the update. How was Saturday sale? How many deer farmers traveled to Ohio for sale? Too busy at the ranch to attend this one.
