Hello fellow Cervidae breeders. I have a quick question about a 3 yr old buck we have that never seems to put on much weight. We have had his manure checked and re-checked, no parasites. All our deer get a free choice , specially blended textured feed. This buck seems a little higher strung than the rest. He seemed the same as a 2 yr old and no better at 3. He scored 196 at 1, 248 at 2 and to me seems about 20% behind last year at this point. Looking for ideas, suggestions?

Maybe you need to switch feeds. I switched this year to adm and I think they are prob 20% bigger that what I was currently feeding and they look a lot better weight wise

I have same issue with a buck he is 2 this year seems thin everything checks out good seemed fine at 1 I thought he got thin after he shed never put the weight back on I switched feed hasn't helped yet he was bottle fed after he shed he didn't want to come around much like he was embarrassed not sure what is wrong either he acts normal again just thin
