Was wondering if anyone had advice for treating the residual effects of EHD; I.e. hoof sloughing. A friend as a yearling doe that survived EHD this year. Subsequently, her front right hoof has cracked across the top. She will not put any weight on it and flickers her tail in pain when she walks. The problem has compounded as the buck has been riding her hard. A decision has been made to remove her from the pen so minimize harassment. Thanks for the advice.

Good thinking to get her out of the breeding pen to get her healed up. Sounds likes shes been through enough and can miss a years breeding!!   I would get her in with a fawn or two for company, get her down and check the foot and go from there. Some meds for sure depending, maybe a flush and some Alumashield or Blue coat of such for sure. Just letting her rest from being chased around i would think will help huge. They are tough animals. As she has shown!!!  Good Luck!
