Advice Needed for Fawn with 2 Fractured Back Legs

A neighbor was cutting hay in a big pasture when an approximate 2 day old fawn ran out in front of the hay cutter and he accidentally clipped both back legs. Both legs are fractured. The right leg has 2 breaks. One is above the hoof and one is about an inch below the knee. This was a compound fracture with minimal bleeding. The left leg was snapped a little below the knee. Both legs were dangling but she was still moving around with the injuries. This happened 4 days ago. She is eating and pooping fine. She is alert and doesn’t appear to be in any gross pain. We cleaned the legs with Bactine and Neosporin and put splints on both legs. I am also giving her 0.5 CC of amoxicillin daily. The legs have had some drainage that has leaked through. I’m concerned with infection due to the open fractures. I’m trying to do all I can with the limited knowledge i have to help her heal. I know I’ve rambled but I just want to do my best to help her back to a somewhat normal life. Any advice would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Thank you for the replies. I really do appreciate you taking the time to reply. I have been changing the bandages under the splints every 2 days. Do i need to leave the splints in place? She tries to get up and walk and she can. It just takes her multiple attempts and she’s still unsteady. I was thinking that she needed to walk some so she doesn’t become weaker. So should be walking any? Thanks again for the input.

She is very tame. I’ve been keeping check every 2 days on her bandages. I can smell the infection when i change the bandages. It is leaking through some. If i can figure out how to include a pic on here. Thanks so much guys.
