What your opinion of either first hand knowledge or "tribal" knowledge of tranquailizing your bucks to move them during the growing season? Other than undo stress for whatever reason?

For me, I have NOT seen any significant growth problems on those that go down easy or damage from thrashing around in a trailer. Have I been lucky or does anybody just say no unless absolutely needed? Thanks!

I have noticed that when I dart bucks in March, they will start a little slower than the ones who were not darted. They always catch up by June though, then they chug along with the others.

If your darting males just before or during antler growth , a shoulder site may be better than the rump. I've seen enough contralateral deformity in antlers in several species if deer to believe this. If I must, I prefer the pressurised darts to do this as there is less trauma from the drugs being injected more slowly, than from the powder charged darts.

Cheers Sharkey
