We had a 2 yr old buck shed his antlers this weekend, of course he was one of the 4 out of 20 stockers left from our EHD Hit. what do you think caused this to happen so soon.

any illness or injury can cause a buck to drop antlers early.
THATS THE EARLIEST I HAVE HEARD OF DROPPING BUT DTALA IS RIGHT - THEIR SYSTEM GETS DOWN AND CAN DROP THEM - AS WELL AS MALNUTRITION (NOT THAT YOU ARE)

I know of one farm who gave his deer some hay one year that had mold on it. The bucks ate the hay and a few days later they shed their antlers. It was due to them having a slight fever from the mold.
