Well, the 2013 season with Bear Essential Wilderness Adventures (the Barks boys) was a great success. Normally offering Spring bear hunts on our trapline area in northern Saskatchewan, this year we sold out tags (10 in total) with a special limited edition fall bear hunt as well for the last tag. We appreciate all our friends (many who are also fellow deer farmers) who helped make this a terrific first year!

Check out the last bear pics and videos at www.facebook.com/bearessentialwild ! We had chocolate bears (Fred), Big Blacks, Black with big white chevron (Shawn), cinnamon bears (Heath), beaver trapping (Jerome), and more.

I love the video of Fred's hunt that Dale (one of our sons and guides) put together, which pans from the 3 bears at the barrels, to the one big black trying to climb up his stand, to the chocolate bear slinking into the area through the trees...Great action, lots of bears!

And "Ol' 3 legs" and "Bluebird" are still at large for next year. Check out the pics and drop us a "like" for the Bear Essential page. Thanks :)

Thanks again to Heath Walk who bought the donated hunt at NADeFA! To Jerome and Nadia who phoned and booked our very first hunt/adventure, and to Fred who booked our last...and to everyone in between! Thanks!

We had couples, families, avid bowhunters, avid rifle hunters, bear hunting buddies, teenagers! Wow!

Anyone interested in a awesome hunting adventure hook up with the barks. Somehow the bark family makes living in the "bush" more comfortable then any hunting lodge I ever stayed at. The food was absolutely incredible and fellowship was top notch. I value the friendship I share with the Bark's and will be back on the trap line again in the future hunting a dream bear. Thank you again for an experience of a lifetime!

Thanks Heath again for believing and trusting in us enough to buy your adventure at the NADeFA auction "sight unseen" .It was a blast and we look forward to big plans for more big bears. With 4 guys in your group taking 4 great bears, it was a terrific adventure...tell Isaac the beaver dam is too flooded to hunt on the other side this year. So from the looks of it we will be hunting south and west instead of that long argo trip to the east! No to just retrieve the stands and barrels by snowmobile at freeze up! lol

Just for all who may be reading and interested in booking, don't wait for the NADeFA auction this year. With only 10 tags available there is a very good chance they'll be gone before March. With limited tags, we are able to offer hunting areas that have had limited hunter pressure...means more bears and big bears every year. Thanks again to all who made this an amazing year! :)

If you are looking for a true wilderness experience without the hard cots, cold tents, mediocre food and a ambivalent guides this is the hunt for you. Nadia ( my wife) and I had a great time great time with the Barks. In fact, Nadia had never been camping before and the first words out of her mouth while breaking camp was " i would like to do this again"! Don't hestiate and miss out on the chance to build memories and make new friends. Call the Barks today before the get all booked up.

Thanks Jerome! We soooo appreciated you and Nadia as you were willing to be our very first clients, working with us as we worked out kinks. I will always remember you saying that you were there for the adventure...that when the wheels of the argo fell off and you had to walk for miles, that you wanted to be there. Thankfully the wheels never fell off (had to change an axle with the next crew, but...) :) Nadia was such a blessing as well. Her reaction was priceless when she walked into the tent that had a queen size bed, dresser, wood floor and rug. Now she can say she's been camping! :) You were both so much fun! Thank you for taking a chance with us and helping create memories that we will never forget...I don't know how many beavers you helped us pull out of traps, but it was a good trapping season as well! And "Bluebird" (big black bear) is still there waiting for an encounter with you!

Oh, and we can't forget the great times we had with all the groups discussing deer and deer farming! From business strategies, feed, handling, AI ing, genetics (who really are the best bucks in the industry? little known wonders, passdown potency). We covered some great topics which will be great subjects in Deer Tracking for a long time...except some parts where "what happens in bear camp, stays in bear camp!" :)
