What can be done for black flies? Our deer are getting bit like crazy Any recommendations appreciated

I put on a fly tag that slips over existing tags. It seems to be working well but deer and sheep look like Christmas is coming. They are suppose to be good for a few months.
I'm in the house now but if you need the product name just PM me and I will get it from our AI room for you. I want to say it was called Python fly tags by Y-tex.

Jack that is exactly what they are called. I had garlic powder put in my feed this year so hope it cuts back on the flys. They still have some on them but not as much as last year.

Put vinigar in there water eqivalant to 2 oz.per head a day ,it works for mosqitos and reg.flys it also has digestive valus.

Where do you guys buy your garlic powder from? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks. Want to cut back on the flies.

I have mine mixed in when I buy the feed. I thought I could just sprinkle it on but the guy said it doesn't work very well if u do it like that because it doesn't stick very good. Mine is actually mixed into the pellet. Not sure if what he says it true or not I guess. Maybe someone else has tried to sprinkle it on that's had good luck on here???

www.webstaurantstore.com Its about $100 for a 25 pound box. We give about 1/8th cup per deer, per day, top dressed then stirred in. We've done it for 3 years years now, April-November. I am not going to tell you that it will keep flies, midges, or mosquitoes off of your deer. We have had very good success with battling EHD, thats why we use garlic. I'm in Florida, adjacent to a 1000 acre State Park swamp. My deer still get bitten by many many large flies every day.

I think it cost me something like $20 a ton more to have it mixed in to my pellets is all. Not sure if it was even that much. I am now feeding it year round
