Hi any advice/help would be much appreciated had a buck in the pen spook today and hit the fence and and broke off one of his antlers wondering what I should do... Let him heal or try and tranq him and treat him. it broke just above the base and I don't think it would be easy to tranq him since he is so worked up now and help would be much appreciated.

Keep an eye on it for the next couple days... It should clot up on its own. Flys are what you need to watch for but not real hot out yet so flys won't be as bad... And once it clots up and hardens over then flys won't be issue anymore... Needless to say that side is toast till next growing season

Ok I just want this guy to live flys shouldnt be to bad supposed be about 30 tomorrow night hope it can clot up with all this rain we're getting up here... I think he will grow normal next year? had to be one of the better ones to top it all

I would knock him down and treat it. Risk vs reward. Why take a chance? Most likely he'll be fine but if you have the tools to treat, why not then?

i tried to get some antibiotics in him just with the dart gun and couldnt even get close enough for that.  Everything looks like it clotted fine as of last night. Flies shouldnt be a problem since it 30 and snowing today.  I put a blind on the edge of his pen today so hopefully he is a little more used to that tonight or tommorow and i can at least get some draxxin in him.

Make sure you go into the blind with 2 people and only 1 comes out! A little grain within shooting distance should help you out!! The buck will think you drove off when really you are still in the blind and the other person drove off!!! Good luck!
