That's what I was thinking along with wishing I wasn't on midnights all weekend long not being able to be up there. Some nice lots I would definitely been able to afford!

I agree with Mike.Me just getting started in this venture it is nice to see some more affordable prices on some real nice animals.Thank You to all the deer farmers that offer these lots at the sales. It is truely amazing what some have accomplished.

The prices will stay about the same with a couple sales this close together

I think price goes with the sale. Marks sales show what most breedings are worth. Kinda the working mans sale. He sells and shows what the average farmer can expect to get for his animals! Different breeders- Different breedings-Different value!

Wasn't there a fair amount of young fawns in the sale ? Takes a long time to recoop your investment on young deer with a few years of risks . Much quicker on good bred does . I also think your asking people to take their time to attend a sale or watch it on the internet with reserves not knowing if they'll get the animal even if they are the high bidder. Prices did seem a bit low though .. but so are the shooter markets and wouldn't they go hand in hand most times ? Just my thoughts !

Thank You for posting the auction results Henry !! It's always interesting to see whats going on in the deer markets and the watch what crossed with what brings the most or peaks the most interests . Thanks again !

Wooden Acres,

shooter prices were real good late and they were begging for shooters. With the big hit with ehd, I would look for prices for good shooters to be good for at least 3-4 years.

Clearview , you may have a point there I know EHD hit some area's really hard but lets hope that dosen't happen again this summer . Shooters should come up , we can hardly feed these bucks and make a profit in them . Then again feed should either come down or even off as grain prices aren't any higher than the last 2 to 3 years. Beans are a tad higher but corns been hanging around that 7 dollar mark as of late and it's been in the 7 dollar area for the past 3 years. The big scare in corn prices going to the 8 and 9 dollar mark because of the super dry conditions just isn't going to happen I don't think . Just a thought !
