I live in southwest Louisiana and have a small heard of whitetail that are all bottle raised and all will eat from your hand. I have tried medicating by mixing meds with treats not happening tried injecting while feeding treats bad idea have since bought dart gun and by far the way to go just not sure on Cannula length would like to go as short as possible but still being effective. Im Using a 22 cal pneu dart rifle w/brown charges with rifle set on one. Should never need to dart farther than 40 feet. Also wondering if anyone is darting ivermec through dart gun? I have read don't want to inject in muscle for fear of abscess. Any thoughts would greatly bee appreciated

Wright, I use the same set up you have and I use 3/4" length on my darts works great.

I use ivermectin+ by top dressing my feed, Had my vet check on it, at first she thought I was crazy but she checked on it with other vets and called me back and it was OK to do it like that.

Did it that way a few times and never had any issues yet.

That's just the way I do it , not telling you what to do. Just what I do.

I have been using 3/4 needles but was convinced to go to go with 1/2 hopping to get positive feed back on 1/2,:needles

One thing that might get you by with the 1/2 inch is being in the south. I have a farm in Alabama, our deer have a thinner hide on them due to the extreme heat conditions and mild winters. Also their calmness works to your advantage for a more solid point of impact.

Thanks for your thoughts Cassie and Wayne. Still plan on looking at your fogger next weekend in Louisiana mr Wayne.
