three year old buck on my place that has been losing weight for 10 months now. He started last Nov losing weight, runny bowels. I ran fecal checks 4-5 times. NO coccicidia, no parasites, no e-coli, nothing on the fecal exams. I wormed him with several different wormers, antibiotics, and gave him weekly probiotics. Finally in Feb two double oral injections of Safeguard paste cleared up the runny stool. He started to gain some weight by late spring. A month ago he started runny stool again, losing weight. He dosen't have much to lose.....

Any suggestions would be appreciated......

I tell people to try this but most don't and they continue to have the same problem. They usually try probiotics or what ever else someone tells them to do.   I also have negative results on what I send in.  My own personal program to stop this has been the same for at least ten years.  I have been in this business for 35 years.

I double the dose of Valbenzen first dose and worm them again double dose in ten days and worm every 30 days after that on the grain.

I treat with Micotil 300 at least twice with the recommended dose 48 hours apart.  Sometime I will treat three times 48 hours apart.

I have also had them with runny stool for months on end and end results were death before I found out this worked.  I tried all the different drugs and none worked except Micotil 300.

After my program I have had 100% of them stop runny stool.  Some months later a few will start it again and I treat again.  Usually after that none come down sick again.

Again I will say Micotil will kill people if product is accidently put in them so be careful with it's use.

My personal opinion is there is a parasite or fungus that isn't showing up in fecal exams that is causing this.  I'm only glad I figured out a way to stop it as animals that look like that look bad to the public.

Thanks for the information Jack.  Micotil is the only thing we don't have on hand simply because I'm worried about mom or sister poking themselves w a needle.

Would try what Jack said, but also wouldn't hurt to get a blood sample and test for Johne's disease.
