Just checking to see how many people dart with just Xylazine no telozal.

What does the telozal actually do if you can dart with out it?

Never had much luck with just xylazine. Seemed like we always had to fight them. The way my vet told me xylazine is a muscle relaxer and the deer still know whats going on around them were the telozal numbs the brain and puts them more to sleep were they dont know whats going on. I am sure there is a more complex answer just the way my vet brought it down to dumb deer farmer terms.

We have good luck useing only Xylazine when darting. We do have Kedimine on hand. If one is fighting to go down, I'll use a pole syringe and walk up behind them and give em a couple cc's. The Kedimine is fall cheaper than the Telozal. The only times I use Telozal is when AIing and loading hunt bucks.

I do not have plans on getting a chute system in the near future.

Cassie - As Lazy V said, the Telazol has the ability to put them more to sleep, and the Xlazine impedes the use of their muscles.

Personally, I would NEVER, by choice, use just Xlazine to put a deer down.
