I have fawns dropping like crazy right now, 4 were born yesterday. All are doing great except one of my buck fawns. He tries to walk on the very tips of his front hooves but he doesnt have any flexibility in that joint directly above the hoof. It roles over and he ends up walking around on the front part of his leg. He is healthy and looks good except for his feet. He does come off to look like hes in pain or really uncomfortable walking that way. Would you guys try splinting them and hope they will eventually get more flexible or what?? Any advise would be great. Thanks in advance!
T.R.O., shouldn't have to do anything but flex the joints and help him get stronger. You will be surprised the difference a week will make. Just one mans opinion! ZZ
T.R.O. time will help to get him walking right. Had a doe fawn last week that had her front legs going in 10 different directions. Today she is straight as an arrow and doing well. Like ZZ said flexing his legs will help alot. Good luck
Make a splint to keep em strait. He will put pressure on them and will eventually he will be fine. You will never know! Good Luck
I have had them like that a couple of times before and never did anything. In 2 or 3 weeks you will never know there was a problem. Just leave them alone and he will likely be OK
I agree , I wouldn't do anything . He'll grow out of it in short time ! Wouldn't hurt to give him some Bo-Se !! Just a thought !
Again.....listen to the majority here leave him be he will heal up fine......just needs time to strengthen up his joint.
