Ok, I pasted the story below...

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. —The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is getting death threats after a DNR raid led to the death of a baby deer being held at Kenosha County animal shelter.

That raid was first reported in a WISN 12 News investigation earlier this week, and it triggered a massive response.

"It was like a SWAT team," shelter employee Ray Schulze said.

That's how Schulze described the scene when more than a dozen armed officers rolled into a Kenosha County shelter last month with a search warrant.

The goal was to seize a fawn the staff had named Giggles. The reason was because it's illegal to keep white tail deer in captivity.

"And here they come carrying the baby deer over their shoulder. She was in a body bag," Schulze said.

"It was clearly to send a message that don't you dare mess with the DNR," shelter president Cindy Schultz said.

Schultz said that in the hours following the WISN 12 News investigation, the response was overwhelming. She is fielding calls from animal activists and reporters across the country.

"I've never seen anything travel like this, this fast. It's everywhere," Schultz said.

A DNR spokesman told WISN 12 News the department has also been inundated with complaints and comments and has even received death threats.

DNR Secretary Cathy Stepp issued a written statement saying, "Wardens did request voluntary compliance from the facility. When that didn't happen, our staff took precautions to keep everyone safe as they executed the required search warrant."

Meanwhile, Schultz said she may sue over the raid on her shelter.

"I think it's going to be a fight right down to the end," Schultz said.

The DNR has posted the secretary's full response and description of the laws surrounding deer held in captivity on its Facebook page.

As far as the death threats, the DNR would only say it's following proper procedures in dealing with them.

WISN 12 News learned that the state Department of Justice has not been asked to investigate any threats.

Nice find Barry I'm surprised they didn't burn the place down after they left. Once again the Dnr pounding there chest. I set back and wonder what it would be like to work for the dnr, just to be told that you have to go to someone's place and kill their animals. How could you sleep at night???????????????????????

Total power play from DNR - really - a group of people for one little fawn?? Why didn't they just take the fawn to a licensed rehabilitator? Or to a deer farm? How simple would that have been?

Wow I bet they Feel so proud now that it took over a dozen people to kill a helpless fawn i hope they get what they deserve

While I think this was a major mistake on their part and obviously very foolish! I don't think it is worthy of death threats! Hopefully they learn from this bad judgement they made.

It's no wonder the DNR in about every state has lost ALL credibility and respect. This is why people want to high fence there property, to keep these morons and the stupidity out. And to think, these idiots are suppose to be managing all the wildlife in the state and it takes a dozen of them to take down and kill a baby fawn, unbelievable.

A baby deer killed by 13 “heavily armed officers” who came to an animal shelter with a warrant for the deer is a story that is not only heart-wrenching, but an outrageous incident that makes absolutely no sense. They killed the baby deer that was being cared for by this Illinois animal shelter after it was abandoned by its mother, according “Fox and Friends” live on Monday morning, Aug. 5. The story is in the headlines once again as the shelter is now suing the Wisconsin DNR, who were out of their jurisdiction when they shot this baby deer for no valid reason.

As reported by God Discussion on Aug. 3, the baby deer was named “Giggles,” because of the sound she made when trying to "talk." This Bambi look-alike was at the St. Francis Animal Shelter, which is a no-kill shelter in Kenosha-Illinois. The 13 armed men, nine from the Wisconsin agency Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and four deputies, brushed past the volunteers and within minutes took the baby deer out in a body bag.

The deer was brought in by a family who lived just over the border in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin DNR crossed the border into Illinois to get this deer, another aspect of this story that make no sense. They had no jurisdiction in Illinois.

Ray Schulze, the volunteer at the shelter at the time of this horrendous incident said that the deer was scheduled to go to the wildlife reserve the next day. Schultz said he first thought the DNR officers were going to take the deer to a wildlife refuge, but when the deer came out in a body bag, which was hanging over one of the men's shoulders Schultz realized what they had done.

They just made their way in to the section where the deer was kept. Schultz was in another area of the shelter and he walked into the area just as the DNR was leaving with the deer.

Schultz said to the officers, “Why did you do that?” He said he was told by one of the officers, “That's our policy.” Schultz replied, “That's one hell of a policy.” Apparently the DNR officer had the right to shoot this deer because it is against the law to “possess” wildlife in Wisconsin. This is what the SWAT-like team conveyed, but this wasn't Wisconsin, it was Illinois! A DNR spokesperson told the media that wild animals must be euthanized because of the potential danger.

The Society of St. Francis set up a Facebook page calling for "Justice for Giggles." They have also filed a lawsuit against the WDNR, who call their action "euthanasia" and insist that the shelter violated Wisconsin's state law, despite the fact that the shelter is located in Illinois. They defend their actions on killing the deer that looked like Bambi.

“Fox and Friends” asked on Monday if this is “excessive force in a government gone wild?” The government just killed the equavilant to Bambi, why? Who are these people and why did they need 13 armed men for one little baby deer, a fawn called Giggles, which was a pleasure to have around? As the Daily Mail reports last week, "They killed Bambi."

I don't think this story is 100%. The address of this shelter is: 12300 116th St, Kenosha, WI 53142 Clearly Wisconsin

It's amazing how they (the DNR) came in and killed a fawn because of the fear of CWD, but they plan to welcome the wild elk from Kentucky into the state of Wisconsin with open arms even though these animals also may be carrying CWD! This makes no sense to me other than the wildlife agencies are making rules that exempt them from the same rules we have to live by...another perfect example of discrimination.
