I have the same problem with a few deer. If anyone knows what causes it then please post it Thanks in advance. Jeff

She is pulling it out herself, or another deer is pulling her hair, I have seen this multiple times. I actually shot a doe here because she pulled hair out of 6 other does, had them looking bald.

i have a wild deer in my yard that has the same thing happen ? so we know how but ,WHY is this happening ????

Derek, Had this happen with many deer.Best reason I could find was nerves.

Any thing around your pens that is different to what they are used to will make them nervous and cause them to pull out hair.My neighbor deer breeder has been inside his pen changing fence and pounding poles in with equipment the deer are not familar with. Result is many deer look bad by pulling out hair, even fawns. deer are nervous even on a calm day. Could even be noise from neighbors. Just my thoughts.

High stress can deffinetly make them pull their hair like that. I get this a lot around fawning time. It can also be another deer doing that to them. Ive had both of those happen to me. I would say that it could be the new livestock. New noises and smells cause higher stress
