I need advice. I have a mature doe that has had scours for the past three weeks. At week two we gave her 1cc of Draxin followed 3 days later by another 1 cc of Draxin. With no change the following week we gave her 1cc of Cydectin. We also started the pen on Safegard for 3 days. We will begin another 3 days of Safeguard tomorrow. There is still no change in the scours. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have to dart and give the pro-biotice orally. If so how do you make sure it goes into the rumen and not into the lungs.

She's not so tame that we can feed by hand. Most likely we will have to knock her down to administer anything orally.

Yes we do have a water trough in the pen. Any advice on water soluable Pro-Biotic. Where to get it and how much do you mix per gallon?

Thanks BillieJo. Do you have a pwodered probiotic you would reccommend or should I contact our vet. Thanks again for your help. DB

I agree I would get a sample tested to rule out coccidia.....better to be safe than sorry....plus they will be able to tell you pretty much what the problem is if there is a problem. Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. We did submit a fecal sample to our vet and he indicated that there were worm eggs present. After hitting her with Cydectin we are worming the entire pen with Safegard for 10 days. I spoke to the Vet today and he felt the best bet was to wait to see if we get any improvement. I have been concerned about dehydration but she seems alet and is eating and does not seem to be losing weight. The probiotics will be our next move. Thanks for the info on what and where to get it.
