When is it getting to late to drop bred does in drop chute for Vaccinations or for any type of handling?

Cassie, We do ours mid to late Feb.

Cassie, we vaccinate our does at the end of march. We plan for this time of year in hopes it is passed off in the colostrum to fawns.

I appreciate y'all comments. Although my question was not clear I did learn something about Vaccination times.


But I guess my real question is about dropping pregnant does in a chute, how long before she fawn . that is safe to drop her?

I would say no later then 6 weeks befor fawning time.

I have had does in the chute as late as May 5th with a May 23 due date. Over 30 females were vaccinated at that time as well. No issues what so ever. Is it recommended? No. Can it be done? Yes. It all depends on your set up and your animals. Ryan is spot on in his assessment.
