There are quite a few people that have been doing ET work on whitetails for years. Down in TX is where I am aware of it going on, although I am sure there are some people up north flushing embryos also. It seems to be something that is rather secretive for some reason.

I was on DNA solutions a while back looking at some of the big time guys and noticed one doe had over a dozen DNA'd son's and daughters in one year when I looked at her offspring so it leads me to believe it is pretty successful.  I am curious how much it cost.

take this for what it is worth. heard a guy in la. transplanted 60 does had 4 did not take that means the success would be 93%. if this is true with borders being closed in many states this would give farmers access to more genetics possibilities than just buying semen this is just thoughts if above is true

I can imagine that this has to be EXTREMELY stressful on the doe.  CIDR in, Cidr out, AI(lap or Cervical), and Flush.

Per flush they are adding one anethesia to the process so most likely 2x out in less than a week.  Imagine if they do more than one flush on the doe per year.  Just my opinion, due to the NATURE of the beast (even if they are the tamest of bottle feds) that it is not worth putting the animal through it.  They are not a factory and the variability from one whitetail rack to another is what makes them so unique/special.  JMHO

You also have to consider the cost. It has to cost a lot. Factor in what you are going to get vs. th cost of just doing AI - I think most folks will opt for the AI.

I agree with Wayne. I will go as far as saying we will see embryo transplants in a big auction within the next year or two.
